Before

Hydration improves both blood and lymphatic flow, which is needed to bounce back faster. For an extra kick increasing your glutathione levels helps to optimize detox.

Mineral Hydration  

Most of us are chronically dehydrated (especially when we are stressed) and mineral-infused water is the fastest way to hydrate. When you drink mineral-infused water, a hydration sachet, or even get to your local IV bar to hydrate, this water bathes your blood vessels and improves both blood and lymphatic flow. And the minerals bathe your cells, giving them the cofactors they need to make energy more effectively. 

 

Multivitamins 

Those of us who are chronically stressed are also very likely nutrient deficient as well due to a poor diet or poor absorption of nutrients (vitamins, minerals, antioxidants) from our diet. The best way to improve your nutrient levels quickly is by taking a comprehensive multivitamin. This multivitamin should contain activated or methylated B-vitamins because they are more easily absorbed and utilized by the body. Make sure it also contains the major antioxidants like Vitamin C, D, K2, E, A, and Glutathione (or NAC)! Take it 30 minutes to an hour prior to HBOT.  

 

Glutathione 

Glutathione is your master antioxidant. It is often depleted when the body/brain is under stress and there is acute and especially prolonged inflammation. Repleting glutathione levels is essential to optimizing detox and resilience to stress.

 


During

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy works on reducing the inflammation. Since your body is working hard it’s important for you to rest.

Meditation/Relaxation

The key to recovering from a viral illness is to take time to rest and become more parasympathetic. And the good news is that inside a hyperbaric chamber, you are isolated from the outside world for just a little bit to make this easier. It is best to turn your phone onto airplane mode or off and instead, focus on meditation or relaxation techniques. For meditation, consider a focused practice like focusing on your breath or object. For relaxation techniques, consider progressive muscle relaxation where you tense a muscle and then let it go every 15 to 30 seconds.  

 

After

Vibration boosts the lymphatic system and Infra-Red Sauna increase blood circulation & help you sweat out the toxins.

Vibration
Whole body vibration stimulates your body’s lymphatic system to work more efficiently in removing waste and detoxifying. After HBOT, this is a great way to supercharge recovery. 5 to 10 minutes is all you need. The sooner the better after HBOT.    
Infrared Sauna
Infrared Saunas use infrared light (<700nm) to heat your body up from the inside out, increasing blood circulation and revving up your detox pathways while you sweat out toxins. The key to recovering from a viral illness is to focus on detox post HBOT. One of the best ways to do this is to head into your infrared sauna for 15 to 45 minutes and sweat it out (while keeping hydrated!) after HBOT. 

If you are very weak, even start with 5 to 10 minutes first. The infrared heat will increase blood flow and lymphatic throughout the body. After you leave the sauna, take a lukewarm shower and hydrate some more (see below).

 

Mineral Hydration

As with all HBOT related protocols, mineral hydration is key. When you are bouncing back from a viral illness, it is essential you do this after HBOT as well as before.
