Before

Hydration and multivitamines

Most of us are chronically dehydrated especially when we are stressed. Chronically stressed people are also often nutrient deficient due to poor diet or poor absorption of nutrients.

Most of us are chronically dehydrated especially when we are stressed, mineral-infused water is the fastest way to hydrate. When you drink mineral-infused water, a hydration sachet, or even get to your local IV bar to hydrate, this water bathes your blood vessels and improves both blood and lymphatic flow. And the minerals bathe your cells, giving them the cofactors they need to make energy more effectively.

Those of us who are chronically stressed are also very likely nutrient deficient as well due to a poor diet or poor absorption of nutrients (vitamins, minerals, antioxidants) from our diet. The best way to improve your nutrient levels quickly is by taking a comprehensive multivitamin. This multivitamin should contain activated or methylated B-vitamins because they are more easily absorbed and utilized by the body. Make sure it also contains the major antioxidants like Vitamin C, D, K2, E, A, and Glutathione (or NAC)! Take it 30 minutes to an hour prior to HBOT.

During

Mindfulness

Pair your HBOT-session with a calm relaxing meditation.

The key to recovering from burnout is giving yourself the gift of time to recover. The good news is that inside a hyperbaric chamber, you are isolated from the outside world for just a little bit to make this easier. It is best to turn your phone onto airplane mode or off and instead, focus on meditation or relaxation techniques. For meditation, consider a focused practice like focusing on your breath or object. For relaxation techniques, consider progressive muscle relaxation where you tense a muscle and then let it go every 15 to 30 seconds.

After

Infra-red Sauna, yoga or stretching

The key when you’re stressed or burned out is to improve lymphatic circulation and detoxification.

IR Sauna
The key when stressed or burned out is to detox.  And one of the best ways to do this is to head into your infrared sauna for 15 to 45 minutes and sweat it out (while keeping hydrated!) after HBOT. The infrared heat will increase blood flow and lymphatic throughout the body. After you get out of the sauna, take a lukewarm shower and hydrate some more.  You’ll sleep like a baby after!

Stretching/Yoga

Yoga or stretching post HBOT is a great way to bring oxygen to various muscle groups, tendons, and ligaments that need it and improve lymphatic circulation. Take it easy though. Don’t stress the body during this time. It’s about recovery and not about holding your most difficult pose!

Mineral Hydration

As with all HBOT protocols, mineral hydration is key but even more essential after HBOT to boost your performance.
